Hopkins, SC-Congaree National Forest

On our way out of South Carolina, we stopped at Congaree National Forest to have lunch and explore a little.  It is the "largest intact expanse of old growth bottomland hardwood forest remaining in the southeastern United States".

The visitor's center was closed on Sunday and one of the trails was closed due to damage from a fallen tree, otherwise, we had a nice hike.

Here's a few of our pics:

Maybe one day, we will be able to return to learn more about it and explore the rest of the trails!
